“There are always things to miss,” said Maggie. “No matter where you are.” ~ from the book Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan
Such a simple sentiment, yet when you think on it–it runs deep. Life is less than perfect. Same with most circumstances. Yet, there are things you would miss. It almost fits the old cliché “you don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone.”
Your Creative Art Journal Prompt: Color your journal page in your most favorite color – every shade and tone. Make little individual boxes to write the imperfect things you would miss (as if you need a hint think: friends, family, work, gathering places, chores, etc…). Perhaps mask the page with artist/painters tape before coloring it, so that when you remove the tape, you’ll have imperfect little boxes in which to write your imperfect things. Or make pockets to place the imperfect things. Now journal. Don’t focus on the imperfections, rather journal about why you would miss those things if they were gone. Write it. Express it. Color it. Creatively Art Journal it.
