“For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time to still be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.” ~ Alfred d’Souza
This quote arrived to me this past week via the 137 Days Project with Patti Digh. Something that I’ve joined and jumped into. Consider being a part of it.
Your Creative Art Journal Prompt: Divide your journal page into two halves. On one half, list of the things that you use/say for reasons (and honestly, I’m hugging you when I say this, excuses) for not doing the next new thing. Don’t list the thing you aren’t doing… just the reason (hug…again, excuse).
Now on the other side of your page write in BIG letters, “it’s okay. that stuff IS my life. so I’m getting on with:” and then write down the things you want to do, REGARDLESS of all the stuff on the other side of your journal page.
Take some time with this, let is soak in. Writing it, saying it, can be the first step to actually doing it.
Lastly, you know best how to fancy up this art journal page. Write it. Express it. Color it. Creatively Art Journal it.
