“Creativity is just connecting things. When you ask creative people how they did something, they feel a little guilty because they didn’t really do it, they just saw something. It seemed obvious to them after a while. That’s because they were able to connect experiences they’ve had and synthesize new things.” ~ Steve Jobs
Your Creative Art Journal Prompt: This will take a bit of imagination – but that’s okay because you have plenty of it. Take two unrelated objects. On my desk I see a paperclip, and on my inspiration board a postcard. So I’ll use those two unrelated things. Maybe you’ll use a flower and jelly sandwich, or a tissue and a chair. Just two “things.” Now either draw or write those on opposite sides of your journal page. And begin to connect them. Somehow that flower and jelly sandwich cross paths. Or my paperclip journeyed to the place were the postcard was written. Who knows, this is a new synthesized thing YOU are creating! You can write a story, or do something that looks like mind mapping. Or maybe several cartoon stills that “CONNECT” the two objects. And as always, you know best how to put the final touches on your page. Write it. Express it. Color it. Creatively Art Journal it.
